Solheim Cup

Named after Karsten and Louise Solheim, founders of the famous PING golf equipment company, the Solheim Cup pays tribute to passionate golf players and the legacy of the game. These women golfers have proudly represented their countries – turning in show-stopping performances on the world’s most challenging courses.

This biennial event that began in 1990 gathers the best American golfers from the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and European golfers from the Ladies European Tour (LET), for an exciting trans-Atlantic, team-based match-play competition.

As the most coveted trophy in women’s professional golf team competition, the Solheim Cup is one of the most anticipated event trips we offer, with host countries that are some of the best travel destinations worldwide.

Solheim Cup 2023 will be hosted by Finca Cortesin, at the stunning Costa del Sol of Andalucia, Spain. Needless to say, we are beyond excited for everyone who will join us on this landmark trip.

Ryder Cup

Founded by English entrepreneur Samuel Ryder, the Ryder Cup is one of the world’s greatest sporting events that brings together 24 top professional golfers from Europe and the United States for a match-play competition.

Witness the tension, solidarity, and passion as this biennial tournament continues its near-century-old tradition of honoring the sport. This year, the Ryder Cup will be hosted at Whistling Straits, in the backdrop of Wisconsin’s scenic, diverse landscapes.

The tournament’s format includes one four-match fourball session, one four-match foursome session for the first two days, culminating on the third and final day with 12 singles matches.

US Women’s Golf Open

The US Women’s Golf Open is organized by the United States Golf Association. It is LPGA’s longest-running championship tournament among its 5 prestigious major play-offs that include the Women’s PGA Championship, ANA Inspiration, The Evian Championship, and the Women’s British Open.

It began in 1946 and has continued to showcase the game’s finest players, as women from around the world compete for the top spot in this annual golf championship. Its most recent champions are Yuka Saso (2021), A Lim Kim (2020), and Jeonggeun Lee (2020).

The next event will be held in 2022 at Southern Pines, North Carolina.

The Evian Championship

The Evian Championship started as a European tour invitational back in 1994 and was conceptualized by Antoine and Franck Riboud. As father and son, these influential French tycoons dreamed of a venue to showcase the prowess of women golf champions.

It was launched as the Ladies European Tour and has since produced exceptional Evian Masters who have helped build its legitimacy. This has culminated in the tournament being officially recognized in the year 2013 – a great landmark for the sport.

The Evian Championship has pursued its mission for the past 25 years of promoting women and young talents through exposure and top-level competitiveness.

Women’s Golf and Travel is a proud supporter of these tournaments and we continue to promote and celebrate them by including their events in our tours.
