Meet Barbara Gutstadt: The Masked Solheim Cup Cheerleader
Barbara Gutstadt, Founder and CEO of Women’s Golf and Travel, has teamed up with the LPGA Amateur Golf Association in a supporting role with their Solheim Cup golf travel packages. Gutstadt. a long-standing member of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association, Charlotte and Fort Lauderdale Chapters, has been deemed their “official mascot” of the competition, which features Team USA against Team Europe Aug 31 – Sep 6 in Toledo, Ohio.
As the official mascot, she will be helping members of the LPGA Amateurs and their guests prepare for and join in a frenzied cheering celebration. “ We are thrilled to have Barbara join our on-site team to assist in providing our members the best and most memorable Solheim Cup experience,” said Mary-Lee Cobick, Vice President of the LPGA Foundation and LPGA Professionals at the Ladies Professional Golf Association.
From her songs and cheers to her red, white and blue mohawk, striped overalls, and star-spangled face-paint and mask, Gutstadt is a staple at the bi-annual competition both in the United States and abroad. She and her cheerleading partner — equally adorned in the red, white and blue — will roam the course, bringing smiles and laughter to fans.
An enthusiastic and adventurous golf traveler, Gutstadt and her team have hosted groups to major golf destinations around the world and have successfully planned and executed package excursions to multiple Solheim Cups. She’s regarded as the preeminent expert in women’s golf travel and has guided trips for associations, country club members and individuals throughout the world.
Gutstadt is known for her keen eye to detail and high level of individualized service.
